Advanced Topics in CODE V®

A Five-Day Short Course for Technical Professionals

March 22-26, 2010


This short course will give current users of CODE V an opportunity to learn about and practice using a number of advanced topics and specialized techniques. You will learn how to solve current problems more effectively and discover new applications for CODE V in your work.

Seminar attendees will be CODE V users with varying interests and experience levels. Thus, a flexible, informal, and wide-ranging format will be used, which will include presentations on all topics, computer demonstrations, hands-on exercises, informal discussions, and workshops.

  • Diffraction analysis
  • Environmental analysis of optical systems
  • Diffractive and binary optics
Tuesday
  • Advanced optimization techniques
  • Interferograms and the Alignment option
Wednesday
  • Non-sequential surfaces
  • Polarization analysis of optical systems
Thursday
  • Macro-PLUS™ programming
  • COM interface
Friday
  • Tolerancing tools and techniques
  • General Beam Propagation

 

Classes are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., except on the last day when class ends at 4:30 p.m. Hands-on workshops are held throughout the day. One computer will be provided for each attendee. Attendees wishing to work independently are welcome to bring their own laptop and will receive a $300 discount on their registration.

 

Who Should Attend?

Anyone who uses CODE V now and wishes to use it more effectively or who wishes to learn more about the various advanced features of CODE V. Although CODE V's Graphical User Interface (GUI) will be used, familiarity with command mode will be very helpful.

Registration and Fees

The fee for this short course is $1,500 ($1,200 for attendees who provide their own laptop computers). This includes instruction, computer resources, course notes, and refreshments.

Attendance is limited. Pre-registration with payment must be made at least three weeks before the start of the courses. The fee is refundable up to that point. (A $200 fee is charged for later cancellations.)
