TeraSoft New ORA Representative in Taiwan

Effective March 1, 2004, Optical Research Associates has appointed TeraSoft Inc. (http://www.terasoft.com.tw) as the new and exclusive representative for its CODE V and LightTools software business in Taiwan (see contact information at the end of this article).

While we have been pleased with our relationship with AHEAD Corporation, our representative for the last several years, we are making this change due to the changing nature of our software and the way it is used throughout the world. Optics and illumination are still fundamental for our customers, but there is also a growing need for integrated engineering, where customers use multiple software packages to accomplish their design, analysis, and manufacturing goals. We have responded to this need by enhancing the communication features of both LightTools and CODE V, with expanded CAD translation capabilities and with a COM interface that supports integration with other software such as CAD programs, utility software such as Excel, mathematical programs such as MATLAB, and many others.

To help us support this trend in Taiwan, we have decided to work with a company which specializes in supplying and supporting technical software. We have chosen TeraSoft, who is the Taiwan representative for MATLAB, the industry-leading mathematical modeling and analysis software from The MathWorks, Inc. We know that many of our LightTools and CODE V customers are also using MATLAB, and TeraSoft has built a successful technical support and service system for MATLAB customers. We believe that TeraSoft's experience in providing and supporting solutions based on MATLAB will be very helpful, and we look forward to working with them in the coming years.
