CODE V 10.5 Service Release 1 (SR1) Is Available for Download

We are pleased to announce that CODE V 10.5 SR1 is now available for download at https://solvnet.synopsys.com/downloadcenter.

License Codes Note

CODE V 10.5 SR1 will continue to use version 10.5 license codes. If you already have CODE V 10.5 installed, see the Installation Instructions below for details about installing your license file for the SR1.

If you have not previously installed CODE V 10.5, you will need to procure a new license file from SolvNet.

Issues Resolved in CODE V 10.5 SR1

This service release corrects several issues, including the following:

  • Resolves an issue in CODE V 10.5 in which a crash could sometimes occur when running macros from a customized toolbar, customized menu item, or occasionally, the Macro Manager. This did not impact macros run from the command line.

  • Resolves an issue in CODE V 10.5 that could result in the program not being able to find an ancillary file (for example, a .INT file) located in the CVUSER folder.

  • Resolves an issue in CODE V 10.5 FCS in which the PRT and CVRPINTFILE commands stopped working for the Windows 7 OS. (To send CODE V files to a printer you can use the PRT command or, alternatively, the CVPRINTFILE command, either from within CODE V using the SYS command, or outside of CODE V from a Windows command prompt.)

  • In CODE V 10.5 FCS, a confirmation prompt was given when a user tried to delete all files in a folder using the Tools > File Maintenance (LIB) feature (for example, LIB; DEL *.*;GO or DEL *.*.*;GO). This was introduced as a precaution, since deleting files in this manner deletes them permanently. This prompt was also enabled for the purge command, PUR; however, since purging a folder of early versions of files is a common operation, and the highest version file is automatically retained, the confirmation prompt has now been disabled for the PUR command.

  • Previously when running Global Synthesis (GS), CODE V would truncate the name of the file if it was longer than 20 characters. In this Service Release, the lens folder and lens base names are listed at the top of the listing, and only the solution number is listed in each table. Note: this change could potentially require modifications to current user macros to concatenate the solution number to the base name, or to change buffer search strings.

  • Resolves an issue in which running the RMSSPOT or SPOTDATA macro functions and specifying zoom position 2, CODE V was occasionally left in a state such that lens parameter changes were not accepted.

  • Resolves an issue in which options that ‘synthesize’ intermediate fields could give incorrect results or ray trace errors for asymmetric systems (in other words, systems where the SYM flag is “NON”) having large object distances. These include Analysis > Diagnostics > Field Curves (FIE), Analysis > Diagnostics > Field Map (FMA), and Analysis > Diffraction > 2D Image Simulation (IMS).

  • Resolves incorrect dN/dT data for Schott CAF2 and LITHOSILQ in the CODE V Glass Catalog. Additionally, the Glass Catalog installed with CODE V 10.5 SR1 includes several catalog updates with respect to that installed with CODE V 10.5 FCS (see the History of CODE V Glass Database Changes page on www.opticalres.com for more information).
