Quick Tips — Macros from CODE V Support
ORA's Technical Support team frequently assists users in writing macros to customize their use of CODE V. These macros are often used as tools to provide additional analysis not yet available in CODE V, or to assist in defining lens models. If the CODE V Tech Support team feels they would be of general benefit to our users, these macros may make their way into a future CODE V update. In the meanwhile, they are often available for download from ORA's Customer Service Web site, www.oraservice.com, under CODE V Support > Macros and User-defined Feature Downloads > CODE V Macros from Tech Support.
This Quick Tip highlights some of the Tech Support macros currently available for download:
- newglassprv.seq – This macro includes new and updated glass data not yet available in the CODE V glass catalog. It can be used to define these glasses in the private glass catalog until the data is included in a CODE V update. This macro is updated frequently between releases.
- rel_stehl_field.seq – Computes and plots Strehl ratio as a function of field.
- user_def_err_fnc.seq – Creates a user-defined version of the Automatic Design default error function based on transverse ray aberrations.
- derset.seq – Used to add or modify an optimization variable without resetting the current derivative increments.
- best_lenses.seq – Ranks all .len files in terms of as-built performance. Useful for sorting Global Synthesis results
- tolstrehl.seq, tolzenike.seq, toltelecentric.seq, tollatcolor.seq, tolmtf.seq – Tolerance performance metric macros for use with finite-difference (tolfdif) and Monte Carlo (tolmonte) tolerancing.
- CODEV_Data_Fitting.zip – File containing macros, sample files, and instructions for fitting sag, index, and other data for use in CODE V.
- wsa.seq – Computes the wavefront slope over the pupil and plots the results.
- telana.seq – Plots the variation from telecentricity across the field of view
For more information on these and other available macros, please visit ORA's Customer Service web site, www.oraservice.com.
Updates to the Customer Area of the Web
The following updates have been made to the ORA Customer Service Web site, www.oraservice.com, under CODE V Support:
- A new macro, wsa.seq, that computes the wavefront slop over the pupil and plots the results, has been added under Macros and User-defined Feature Downloads > CODE V Macros from Tech Support
- The CODE V Intro and Advanced Topics Training materials have been updated to reflect the current version of CODE V, version 9.82, under Training Materials.
