Quick Tip – Customizing CODE V Graphics for Reports and Presentations

CODE V graphics windows include a Copy feature that allows you to copy the graphics onto your computer's clipboard.  The copied graphics can then be pasted into a Microsoft® (MS) Word or PowerPoint® file, converted into MS Word drawing objects, and be customized just like any other MS drawing object.  Customization can include modifying text, making lines thicker and different colors, or rearranging the output to fit the space of your document.

To do this:

  1. Generate your figure in CODE V.
  2. In the CODE V graphics window, select the "Copy" button in the toolbar of the plot window.  This action copies the figure onto the computer's clipboard.
  3. In either MS Word or MS PowerPoint, paste the figure (Edit > Paste menu).

Copy the CODE V figure into MS PowerPoint or Word

  4. Right-click the figure and select Edit Picture.
  5. When the information box appears, verify that you want to convert the image into an editable Microsoft Word drawing object by clicking Yes.
  6. Right click on the converted image and select Grouping > Ungroup.
  7. Customize your figure using the drawing tools available in PowerPoint or Word.
